Valsartan 160 mg (Valsartan) 98 tabs, Sandoz

Manufacturer: Sandoz
Pharmaceutical name: Valsartan
Pack: 1 pack (98 tabs (160 mg))

Valsartan (Valsartan) is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Valsartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.

Valsartan is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. It is also used to improve the chance of living longer after a heart attack. In people with heart failure, it may also lower the chance of having to go to the hospital for heart failure. Valsartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Usual Adult Dose for Hypertension: Initial dose: 80 to 160 mg orally once a day. Maintenance dose: 80 to 320 mg orally once a day.

Usual Adult Dose for Left Ventricular Dysfunction: Initial dose: 20 mg orally twice a day. Maintenance dose: The initial dosage may be titrated upward within 7 days to 40 mg twice daily, with subsequent titrations to a target maintenance dose of 160 mg twice daily as tolerated by the patient. If symptomatic hypotension or renal dysfunction occurs, consideration should be given to a dosage reduction.
