Arimidex (anastrozole) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used when using substantial amounts of aromatizing steroids, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using moderate amounts of such steroids. Arimidex does not have the side effects of aminoglutethimide (Cytadren) and can achieve a high degree of estrogen blockade, much more so than Cytadren. It is possible to reduce estrogen too much with Arimidex, and for these reasons blood tests, or less preferably salivary tests, should be taken after the first week of use to determine if the dosing is correct. As an aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex mechanism of action — blocking conversion of aromatizable steroids to estrogen is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti-estrogens.

Arimidex is an anti-estrogen available in oral form which contains 1 mg of the substance Anastrozole per tablet.

Arimidex is a true aromatase inhibitor which works by blocking the aromatase enzyme in the body, thus limiting the amount of estrogen buildup that takes place. This compound has obvious benefits to bodybuilders who use aromatizing steroids such as testosterone. These individuals might face estrogen related side effects such as water bloat and "gyno", but by taking Anastrozole while on cycle, the chance of any of these sides are greatly reduced.

In studies that have been done, Arimidex has been shown to reduce estrogen in the body by roughly 50%. This is a good balance for bodybuilders , because some estrogen is needed in order for the full anabolic benefits of the steroids being taken to be achieved. These results are typically the same with a dosage of .5 mg a day as they are with a dosage of 1 mg a day, meaning that in most cases, a half tablet a day will be sufficient for estrogen control throughout cycle.

Typically, bodybuilders using Arimidex will begin taking it the day they start their cycle, and will run it throughout the duration of steroid administration. It is also important to point out Anastrozole’s ability to increase testosterone in the body. Some studies have shown that natural testosterone levels have increases as much as 60% after the use of this substance for 7 days. Because of this, bodybuilders find Arimidex extremely effective during PCT where as they are trying to elevate natural levels as much as possible in order to avoid a post cycle "crash".

It is generally recommended that upon discontinuance of steroid use, that one continue to run Anastrozole throughout the duration of their PCT regime. (4-6) weeks.

Arimidex is an anti-estrogenic drug developed for the treatment of advanced breast cancer in women. Specifically, this agent is the first in a newer class of third generation selective oral aromatase inhibitors. It acts by blocking the enzyme aromatase, subsequently blocking the production of estrogen in the body. Since many forms of breast cancer cells are stimulated by estrogen, reducing levels of this hormone in the body may retard the progression of the disease.

For the steroid using male, Arimidex shows great potential. Up to this point, drugs like Nolvadex and Proviron have been the weapons against excess estrogen. These drugs do prove quite effective, but Arimidex makes the job much more efficiently, and with less hassle.

Arimidex blocks the action of estrogen at the receptor, not its actual endogenous production. The effects of Arimidex can be substantial, with a daily dosage of 1mg capable of production estrogen suppression greater than 80% in treated patients. With the powerful effect this drug has on hormone levels, it is usually only prescribed to post menopausal women.

Arimidex active substance is Anastrozole 1 mg.

Nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor that works by inhibiting the synthesis of estrogen. Arimidex lowers serum estradiol concentrations and help to restore the levels of testosterone. Athletes and bodybuilders use it as a part of their steroid cycle to decrease and prevent symptoms of excess estrogens like water retention and gynecomastia.

Arimidex is used for treatment of breast cancer after surgery, as well as for metastasis in both pre and post-menopausal women. The drug inhibits the conversion of androgens to estrogens in peripheral tissues.

There are no registered cases of overdosage.

Arimidex Is used during cycles as well as part of post cycle therpay to restore normal testosterone levels and prevent negative side effects of cycles. Prior these purposes it is taken with Danabol 10 and Testosterona C. In order to halt estrogen conversion it is taken with Finasteride.

Anastrozole is a non-steroidal drug which is used to treat breast cancer. It has been thoroughly studied in women with breast cancer between the 5th-8th decades of life. There are some breast cancers which are dependent on estrogen for their growth. Anastrozole acts by suppressing the levels of estrogen in the body and thus reduces the growth of breast cancer. The drug is first line treatment in post-menopausal women with early breast cancer or in those with advanced breast cancer despite taking Tamoxifen. Arimidex is often combined with other drugs to treat breast cancer in post-menopausal women. The drug has been used to treat early or advanced breast cancer in women all cultures and races.

Anastrozole has three general indications: Is recommended for the treatment of post-menopausal women who have early breast cancer which is hormone sensitive (estrogen positive); Anastrozole also indicated as the first line treatment of post-menopausal females who have spread of breast cancer either locally or systemically, irrespective of the hormonal status of the breast cancer; Anastrozole also indicated in the treatment of advanced breast cancer in post-menopausal women who have further growth of breast cancer following treatment with Tamoxifen. Women who do not have estrogen receptor positive breast cancer and those who do not show any response to Tamoxifen generally do not respond to Anastrozole.

Anastrozole has been studied quite well in the laboratory for its side effects. Further, its side effects in humans have been well recorded in a number of clinical trials. From these clinical studies, it is estimated that at least 5% of individuals who do take Anastrozole develop a variety of side effects in varying range of severity. The most common side effects of the drug include: fatigue and general malaise, vague body pains, headache abdominal cramps and bloating, flu-like syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, gastric upset, swelling of the legs, weight gain, high cholesterol levels, vague muscle and joint pains, softening of bone (osteoporosis), fractures and bone pain. Mood changes- depression, lack of sleep, anxiety, skin rash, hot flashes, vaginal bleeding, cots in the legs, cancer of the uterus.

Besides general tiredness, the next most common complain of patients who take Anastrozole is joint and bony pain. Infact fractures of spine, hip and wrist are all increased in patients who take Anastrozole for long periods. Despite the wide range of side effects, Anastrozole is generally well tolerated by the majority of women.
